My story

Where did this cow come from?

  1. Stage 1 · Childhood

    The Super Nintendo

My interest in games started when I was a kid, especially after my parents bought a Super Nintendo. I died a lot and wasn't very good at it, especially in games that needed quick reflexes. I played a lot with my mom and my uncles. Sometimes I'd just sit and watch them play, too.

  2. Stage 2 · Teenage years

    My first potato

As a teenager, when I finally got my first computer, I discovered MMOs. I also found out that there were PC games beyond those little Flash games. Unfortunately, my PC, bought at a furniture and appliance store, couldn't run almost any game, so I played a lot of Ragnarok Online back then.

  3. Stage 3 · All grown up

    My first real PC

Only as an adult did I get my first PC with a graphics card, built with games in mind. At first, the idea was to play World of Warcraft, which I was already playing on a laptop that could barely render the fences before I tripped over them.

  4. Stage 4 · One day

    Steam and the channel

Then, one day, I found Steam and the absurd variety of games I could find there. That's where I came across a game called Snapshot. I went looking for Brazilians talking about it, to know whether it was worth buying or not, and I found NO content in Brazilian Portuguese at all. That's how the Nikas Play channel started: a place where I could talk about games I found and that I think more people should know about. Over time, I also found out that I love sharing tips and putting guides together. And this site was the way I found to bring all of that together, without relying only on videos.

  5. Current stage · Today

    What I'm into

I go through phases where I like one style more than another, but, in general, I'm a huge puzzle fan and right now I'm playing a lot of cozy games. But I don't stop there: as long as the game is PvE and I find it fun to play, it counts for me.

If you just got here, feel free to check out what's already here and keep an eye on what's coming! Just don't mind the mess.
